

Eric proudly served his country as a United States Marine during Operation Desert Storm. He carried that same sense of dedication and resilience throughout his life, earning the respect of those who knew him.
He found his greatest joy outdoors, especially in the woods, and treasured every opportunity to spend time with his family. Whether sharing stories, making memories, or simply enjoying each other's company, Eric's happiest moments were those spent surrounded by the people he loved.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Eric is survived by his wife, Kathy Padilla of Thicket; his daughter, Brittany Leal and her husband, Rolando, of Gretna; his son, Eric Frank Lotz Jr. and his partner, Abi, of Baton Rouge; his mother, Judith Lotz of Gretna; his sisters, Gretchen Carden and her husband, Leo Jr., and Sigrid Galian, all of Gretna, Louisiana; and his bonus sons, Frank M. Padilla and his wife, Flora, of Beaumont; Herbert "Bull" Padilla and his wife, Rosie, of Silsbee; Joe Padilla and his wife, Mari, of Beaumont; and Robert Padilla and his wife, Maegan, of Nederland. He also leaves behind 12 beloved grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Lotz.
Eric will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared so freely.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in celebrating a life well lived and a man whose strength, kindness, and love will never be forgotten.
