She is preceded in death by her parents, Fern and Ernest Hight and six older siblings.
Eve was a strong and thoughtful woman who carried more than most people knew and always tried to find the positive. She found joy in simple things, her painting and cross-stitch, music, her plants and cats. Eve would light up when surrounded by the people she loved; especially when her grandsons would visit their Mimi. Eve loved to travel, especially her annual trips to New York at Christmas. Eve will be remembered for her fierce love, her strength, and the many ways she tried to make the people around her happy.
Eve is survived by her husband David of 20 years, daughter Angie Burciaga of Houston, son Trey Rainey of Fishers, Indiana, step daughter Carol Locke of Houston, step son Blakey Locke of Dallas, grandsons Lucas Burciaga, Logan Burciaga and Levi Burciaga all of Houston and grandson Cade Rainey of Fishers, Indiana; along with a host of other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the AccentCare Hospice team and Eve's wonderful nurses and caregivers at Buckner Calder Woods.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held in the chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison Ave., Beaumont, TX 77706 on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 11 AM.
