

Gertrude Rode Falgout, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2011, at the age of 86. She was born on September 23, 1924, in Beaumont, Texas and was the only child of Gertrude and Louis Rode. Gertrude began her schooling in Beaumont and finished her education in Louisiana. She was a graduate of Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in New Orleans. On June 15, 1946, she married Rudolph Falgout in Thibodeaux, Louisiana and they returned to Beaumont to make their home and raise their children.
Gertrude is survived by her husband, Rudolph Falgout, Sr. and her four children, Rudy Falgout, Sheila Harrell and husband Rusty, Helen Baker and husband Neal and Louis Falgout and wife Debbie. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Tanya Harrell Roblyer, Holly Falgout, Erin Baker Corbett, Tara Harrell, Leah Falgout Hetherington, Colin Baker, Lauren Falgout and Tyler Falgout and three great grandchildren, Jaron Roblyer, Layne Roblyer and Avery Corbett.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Forest lawn Funeral Home with a chapel service to follow at 11 a.m..
The family wishes to thank the residents and staff of Collier Park. Mom greatly enjoyed the time she lived there and she never missed a social or bingo game.
