

Gilbert Albert Brown, 84, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. He was born in Imperial, Nebraska, on December 16, 1940, to the late Walter Earl Brown and Naomia Gladys Reynolds.
Gil married Joyce Baker in 1961. They shared over 63 wonderful years of love and companionship. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a lifetime University of Nebraska football fan, Go Big Red! They moved to Victoria, Texas, where he started his long career with DuPont. Both his sons were born there.
Gil and his family eventually moved to Southeast Texas in 1977, where he built a loving home and a lasting legacy.
His most outstanding achievement at work was his participation in building a new plant in Derry, Northern Ireland.
Over the years, he enjoyed hobbies such as woodworking, activities with his sons, and card games like Spades and Hearts with his co-workers. After his heart surgery, he spent years enjoying fellowship with others doing cardio rehab. Above all, he cherished spending quality time with his family, whom he loved dearly.
After retirement, Gil served as a deacon at Christian Fellowship Church, where he played a key role in building the church’s sanctuary. He also looked forward to his weekly gatherings with the “Monday Fun Bunch”, where he and his friends would meet at Carmela’s Restaurant to enjoy a meal and catch up.
Gil will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Earl, Bob, and Kenneth, and his son, Scott Regan Brown. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; son, Brian, and his husband, David; daughter-in-law, Susie; granddaughter, Kassi, and her husband, Sterling; grandson, Zachary, and his wife, Paige; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Austin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
