

Giles Bulloch Holst, 87, of The Woodlands, died Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Nexus Hospital in Shenandoah. A longtime resident of Beaumont, Giles was a retired police officer with Beaumont Police Department after 30 years of faithful service, a court bailiff with Jefferson County Sheriff Department, and welding instructor with M Weeks Welding Laboratory and Testing School in Nederland. Giles was a faithful member of The South Park Masonic Lodge #1320 AF & AM in Beaumont.
Giles attended Lamar University in Beaumont where he received his degree in criminal justice and then enrolled at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville where he finished his studies by receiving his Master's in Criminal Justice. Giles was also able to further his studies and training by attending and graduating the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Giles was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years Roberta Holst, his parents Hiram and Marie Giles Holst, 2 brothers, and one sister.
Giles is survived by his son Giles Holst and his wife Lawanna of Port Neches, daughter Twyla Wilson and her husband James of The Woodlands, his grandchildren, Easton Holst of Port Neches, James WIlson of The Woodlands, Randi Holst Wooding and her husband Jonathan of Baltimore, MD., and Shelby Wilson of The Woodlands.
Giles will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
