Grace Marie Dickson passed August 10, to the other side. She died as she had lived, quietly.
Gracie was born with what now is referred to as mental disabilities. She was the youngest and not only different mentally but in her looks. Anyone who met Grace always commented on her beautiful blue eyes. As a child she also had blond hair. Quite a contrast with her brother and sister’s dark brown hair and eyes.
When Grace was diagnosed, our father took her to every specialist, hoping to ‘heal’ her. The medical profession was unable to help and Daddy began to search for help from GOD and as a result became a Christian eventually leading the rest of the family to the LORD. One could say that GOD used Grace to lead our family to himself.
One of the things that always amazed me about my sister’s life was how many people knew her and loved her. She never witnessed to people with words but her very life was a witness.
I’m so grateful that my parents, our parents never put her in an institution. She was a blessing in so many ways.
Grace is survived by her brother, Richard Dickson and his wife Cindy; sister, Carole Dickson Handley; six nieces and nephews and 10 great nephews and nieces.
