Gregory Mark Nunziante was born June 14, 1956 (Flag Day), which was appropriate since he was always a patriot. He passed peacefully on April 30, 2026 in Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. He is survived by his wife DeAnn, daughter Jessica, son Braden and grandsons Gunner and Remy. He was also Daddy G to Darryl Harrington. Son of the late Ronald and Marilyn Nunziante, his family includes brothers and sisters Kevin, Karen, Ronnie, Eileen, and Mary Ellen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a Specialist 4th Class in the Army, and served as a Combat Engineer with Company D, 6th Battalion, 3rd Brigade 1975-1977, and qualified as an expert with the M16 (not bad for a city boy).
He drove a truck most all his life, and kept that CDL current right up to this past year. He was happiest when on the water.
If there was only one word to describe Greg, it would be “passionate.”
When he married DeAnn in May 2003, he never looked back. He loved her with an abiding love rarely seen these days. And he was equally zealous in his love for Jessica through good times and bad, and his love and pride for their son Braden. Even when in the hospital back in August last year, he didn’t want DeAnn staying by his bedside. He said “I’ve got nurses, get home and take care of my son.”
Greg loved bickering with everyone, though it was not mean-spirited. Always laughing and joking, he was seldom very serious. If he was, he was either he was hurting or mad … And if he was mad, you’d better watch out, though that was seldom the case. He was never mad without just cause … simply steadfast and passionate about his beliefs at the time.
Greg is sorely missed by those who love him. The Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:8 that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, so we know Greg is in the arms of his Savior and he will forever be in our hearts.
