

Harold B. “Mickey” Smith, Sr. age 97 of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in Beaumont, Texas. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Nabors officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Mickey was born in Port Arthur, Texas on March 18, 1918 to the late Wallace Smith and Annie Collins Smith. He proudly served his country in the United State Army, in which he received Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, Army Occupation and Japan Victory ribbons. He retired from Texaco after 36 years and was a member of the Oil Chemical & Atomic Workers International Union Local No 4-23. Mickey was also a long time member of Faith Assembly of God in Lumberton. He enjoyed spending time doing “Good Deeds” for others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters and a daughter, Judy Nell Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 78 years, Lillian B. Smith. Three sons, Daniel R. Smith of Lumberton, TX, Harold “Pepper” Smith and his wife Beth Ann of Colmesneil, TX and Michael “Mike” Smith and his wife Cynthia of Lumberton, TX. Seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
