Our Papa was born on January 8, 1958 in Đồng Xuyên, Bắc Việt Nam to Gian and Ty Nguyen. He was married to our mother, Thuy Thi Bui, for 24 plus years. He came to the United States in 1975 with his family and made Beaumont, Texas his home. Along with his wife, they raised a son, Peter, two daughters, Diane and Tina, and 5 grandchildren.
Our father was predeceased by his parents Gian and Ty Nguyen, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Thuy Thi Bui, brothers Huong (Mong), Nghien, and Giang (Phung) and his children Peter (Theresa), Diane (John-Michael) and Tina, one grandson, Alfie, and four granddaughters, Zoe, Aly, Liv, and Arya.
Our Papa was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was devoted to the Catholic Church and community. He attended mass weekly whether it be online or in person at St. Joseph Catholic Church of which he was a longtime member. He enjoyed drinking Bud Light and fishing with his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking for his family during his leisure time, always looking for new recipes to explore on YouTube. You could always find our Papa waiting for us in the driveway while sitting in his rocking red lawn chair, smoking a cigarette. He will always be remembered for his humorous and loving spirit.
