

He was born on March 18, 1935, in Silsbee, Texas, to the late Horace Ira Haynes Sr. and Clara (Hollyfield) Haynes. Horace made his career as a senior chemist with Mobil Chemical Plant in Beaumont, retiring in 1994 after many years of dedicated service. In addition, he worked as a real estate broker in Fannett for several years.
On February 5, 1954, Horace married the love of his life, JoAnn, and together they shared nearly 72 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Horace enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working around his yard. He took great pride in maintaining a large garden and found joy in planting and tending to his vegetables. In his younger years, he also enjoyed fishing.
Horace will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters, Terry Ann Sonnier and Janet Lynn Klock; his brother, Bryant Haynes; and several other siblings.
Horace is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn Marie (Bares) Haynes; his children, Brenda Rollins, Randolph “Randy” Haynes and wife Brenda, and Rusty Haynes; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Clint Sonnier, Scott Sonnier, John Rollins Jr., Dustin Rollins, Brandon Luquette, and Cody Klock.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Richmond, BJ Luquette, and Sonny Haynes.
