Iola Mae Wertheim Williams, age 98, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011. Born to parents, Robert Lee Gray and Ida Fultz Gray on March 10, 1913 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She moved with her family to Beaumont in 1920.
Iola "Honey" graduated from Beaumont High School in 1929. She was employed by the Jefferson Amusement Company where she met Max Wertheim. They married in 1931. Honey was a homemaker and loved to play golf and bridge. Max passed away in 1973. She later married LL (Cy) Williams and resided in Kerrville for 5 years and then moved to Fredericksburg in 1980. Cy passed away in 1982. Iola is survived by her niece, Cheryl Gray Wright of Beaumont; nephews, Bill Harlan Gray of Richmond, Virginia and Dr. Howard T. Graff of Beaumont.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. with a graveside service immediately following at Community Mausoleum, Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends, so desiring, to make memorial contributions to their favorite charity.
