J. Earline Mullen Pool, 91, a lifelong resident of Lumberton, passed away quietly at her home on June 7, 2018 after a year long illness. Earline was born in Beaumont, Texas on June 13, 1926. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abner Earl Mullen and Bertha Ophelia Gardner Mullen.
Earline was forever a proud South Park “Greenie” where she marched in the fast stepping Drum and Bugle Corp.
During her lifetime she worked in the Administration Department of the United Gas Corp. It was there she met her future husband D.L. “Roy” Pool. But before starting her family, she worked as a Bookkeeper for the American National Bank.
Her real joy in life was her family and bowling. She devoted her life to her husband and raising her four children while becoming a creative homemaker with a special talent for baking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. And of course, all the while in perfect attendance of numerous recitals, ball games, horse shows, and all other events. Always giving encouraging words and wisdom that only she knew how. She was an avid league and state tournament bowler for over 50 years winning numerous awards.
Earline is survived by her loving and devoted husband of seventy-one years, David L. Pool of Lumberton, sons; Terry Pool and wife JJ of Lumberton, David L. Pool, Jr. of Fannett, Dan Pool and his fiancé March of Lumberton, Sherry Turner and husband Ronnie of Beaumont, grandson Jake Pool, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 11, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with entombment at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
