Jack "Poppie" McDaniel

Jack “Poppie” McDaniel, 53, of Kountze, Texas passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with his family by his side. He was born December 18, 1956, in Plainview, Texas to Howard and Jacqueline McDaniel. Jack worked offshore as a storekeeper for Ensco Offshore Company. His greatest passions were his family, fishing and most importantly the Dallas Cowboys.

Jack is survived by his wife Iline McDaniel; daughters, Tracie Heiselbetz and Goldie Higginbotham; sister, Lee Ann Mitchell; grandchildren, Lacey Rhymes, Brittney Eichmann, Jennifer Ruiz and Ian Higginbotham and great grandchildren, Landen Rhymes, Caden Eastwood and Camren Eichmann.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Robert Rhodes.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, from 4 p.m., until 8 p.m., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at 10 a.m., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.
