James Lamar Daves was born to J N Dewey Daves and Coralie Lavertta Arnold on August 6, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida. Lamar moved to Dayton, Texas and later Beaumont, Texas where he met the love of his life and married Kay Jordan Daves, and together raised their children and celebrated their marriage for over 53 years.
On September 11, 2019, Lamar was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the only one Lamar loved more than his wife and family. Lamar served his Lord through his church, Calvary Baptist Beaumont, the Gideons, JC's, and his service to those around him. Lamar worked in the Piping & Valve Industrial Supplies in the area for many years with several companies including Gulf Supply. He was always willing to share a square dance with his loving wife and Lamar’s friends remember him as a soft spoken, giant of a man who enjoyed serving his God behind the scene. Lamar served to show the love of Christ to those around him.
