James “Jim” Clifford Wharton, 63, a lifelong resident of Beaumont passed away on Monday January 16, 2017 in Beaumont. Jim was born on Sunday June 28, 1953 in Beaumont, Texas to his parents George Wallace Wharton and Mary Helen Kniseley Wharton who preceded him in death. He was a Methodist by faith and attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaumont. Jim was employed as a Parks and Recreation Laborer for the City of Beaumont. He enjoyed doing photography, playing with RC helicopters and planes, where he was a member of the Beaumont Radio Control Club and the Academy of Model Aeronautics, and a Hamm Radio Club.
The family was extremely proud and appreciated how Jim devoted his life to caring for their mother and how the two of them became huge Star Trek fans and in doing that he even was able to collect a lot of memorabilia.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday February 18, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at The Dishman Chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church located at 3430 Harrison Avenue in Beaumont, Texas, 77706.
