James F Kimmey better known as Jimmy or JK passed away after a lengthy illness. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father HT Kimmey. He is survived by his mother Marilyn Kimmey of Spring, sisters Nancy Thomas of Cypress, Melinda Miller of Pt. Arthur and brother Scott Kimmey of Spring. Jimmy leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and many close lifelong friends.
Jimmy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1963 to a US Navy family. After many moves, the family had their final home base in Port Neches. Jimmy graduated from PNG in 1981. Then went to Lamar University where he graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. While at Lamar, Jimmy was a member of the ATO fraternity. He made friends in the fraternity that are lasting to this day.
Jimmy had a career as a sales person in the oil field equipment and supply business. His good nature and storytelling ability made him a natural for sales. He succeeded by making customers his friends.
Jimmy was known to his friends as JK, Jimmy and Uncle Jimmy to his friend’s kids. The infamous JK was someone to whom people would gravitate. He was the life of the party at every event he attended and always had everyone laughing. He had something to say about everything and everyone, often imitating them. JK was” GQ”. He had his dance moves that no one could touch. If you challenged him then the dance off was “on”. JK was not shy and can be found posing in many photos. Though we will mourn the loss of our good friend, brother and son, we will celebrate all of the memories that he left each of us. These memories will all be filled with many smiles and laughter.
Jimmy loved life and lived it just like he wanted. Most would say his life was cut short, but Jimmy would say his life was full. We will see you again my friend, my brother.
