I struggle to make sense of this enormous loss of my dear friend, Jessie. News of her passing came as a big shock to me, and to many of her dear friends within our Sabahan-Kadazan community group.

To Alan, her beloved husband of 35 years, and their immediate families both here in the States and in Sabah, my deepest sympathy for your loss. May you all find comfort and peace during this difficult time.

I first came to know Jessie through our Sabahan Abroad Group chat sometime around 2004. We stayed in touch, even as Sabahan Abroad closed down, our friendship would continue to grow as we exchanged birthday and Christmas cards throughout the years. Jessie was always keen to keep in touch and never shied away from participating in our many group chats. She constantly radiated kindness and friendliness. She exuded a love of life in photos that she would share of her travels near and far. Jessie kindly invited me to visit her in Beaumont whenever my husband and I were travelling near the Gulf Coast, but I lament that such a trip would never materialize.

Jessie, your love, friendship and kindness are forever etched in my heart and in the many souls you touched. I will continue to treasure you and the many conversations we shared. I will always remember you when I step into Krishna Fish Head Curry Restaurant in Sabah or even when I resume watching an episode of my favourite detective series and one you enjoyed too, Midsommer Murders.
I love you and will miss you dearly my friend. Thank you for your friendship. May you rest in eternal peace.

With love,
Shirley Lindua-Summers

I am shattered I have lost my Best friend of 41 years. I am trying to process the pain I am feeling. But I hear Jessie's voice telling me to stop the tears and get on . My life was so blessed with the special friendship we shared. We had great respect for each other.
I met Jessie in our hometown KK when we became colleagues. We connected instantly and during the course of our friendship we shared almost everything that two girlfriends can share. I truly admired the strong hearted woman whose life exemplified ambition. She had beauty, intelligence , dedication to her family and career and her no-nonsense trait and the pride she took in everything she did in life. She was a force to reckon with.
I miss my bestie but I know that she left the world a very determined woman.
Jessie, "I will NEVER find another YOU!

Our hearts go to you in your time of sorrow , Allan. We regret not being there during her time of illness...
Jetty was such a sweetheart, she always knew how to say the right thing and gave the best smile, made us feel so welcome on every visit we made to your beautiful home. She was the best cook , measured and prepared everything to perfection.
She was a humble person but we knew she was a smart and successful lady just by reading all the awards and certificate of excellence she received from her work over the years. Farewell Jessy, it was an honor knowing you, thank you for everything, the beautiful paintings , your cards and calls and most of all for all the giggles and kindness you gave to us ❤️ 🙏🏼

Jessy and I are fellow-Sabahans and she and I had never met in person (except thru pictures), but we had formed a friendship thru MSN Group way before FB existed. She and I mainly communicated via our exchanges of Christmas cards, and later, occasionally via FB. FB is not everyone's favorite "venue" to be, and I assumed Jessy's absence there was such, and so this news of her passing is truly shocking to me. I am deeply saddened! I have to say that even in just the few message exchanges I had with Jessy, I knew she was a compassionate & kind person in her own quiet way. She was in my thoughts just before I received the sad news of her passing. She'll be sorely missed and forever remembered ! My deepest condolences to her immediate loved ones, and all loved ones left behind. May you all find comfort during this difficult time. May her soul rest in peace. We love you, Jessy!
