Jo Ann Vaught Hackler, 79, of Dickinson, died Friday, October 21, 2021 at her residence. A native of Marlow, OK., she grew up in Spade, TX., and Littlefield, TX., and attended and graduated from Littlefield High School. Jo Ann lived in Lubbock, Longview, and was a longtime resident of Beaumont.
She worked with multiple banks in Beaumont and worked her way up from Teller to Sr. Vice President. Jo Ann was very intelligent even though she had no college education. She learned the banking industry inside out and never lost her job even though she was routinely late getting to work, (she would say that they could take it or leave it), because she always stayed late to learn from others and did extra without pay. After becoming Sr. Vice President and then being passed over for the President's position at her last bank she went to work Gale Investments until she retired.
Jo Ann enjoyed traveling, especially to Italy, Ireland, Alaska, and Acapulco. Being with her friends was always special to her. Even though her only son, Ray, could be a handful at times, she never gave up on him and always encouraged him to be the best he could be. The Smile she always had for family, friends, and especially children was the most special because everyone knew it was from the heart.
A Celebration of Jo Ann's Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the funeral home.
