John was a man who loved adventure. He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises and vacations with his daughter and sister. A fan of old westerns and war movies, John Wayne was his hero. He loved animals, especially his dogs, and found joy in the simple things in life always making the most of every moment and taking time to see the world. Give him a good ol’ rum and Coke and a corndog, and John was happy as can be.
He loved decorating his yard for the holidays and even won a city trophy for his Christmas decorations while living in Minnesota.
On September 30, 1967, John married the love of his life, Carolyn Ruth (Freeman) Briesch. Together, they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2017.
John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Carolyn.
John is survived by his children, Keith Briesch and wife Shelley, and Erica Briesch and fiancé Mark; grandchildren, Heather and Dalton; two great-grandchildren; sister, Michelle Kernery; nephew, David Kernery and wife Liz; niece, Denise Boring and husband David; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
