Johnnie Rhea Wilson

Johnnie Rhea Wilson, 88, of Vidor, passed away on Friday December 5, 2014 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. Johnnie was born in Beaumont, Texas on July 28, 1926 to her parents William J. and Ada Elizabeth Lindow Cox who preceded her in death. Also preceding in death was her husband J.C. Wilson, brother, William J. Cox, Jr., sisters Mary Portier, Betty Hughes, grandson Jerry Wilson, and her best friend Sister Rich. She was a lifelong resident of the Beaumont-Vidor area and was a dedicated homemaker. Mrs. Wilson spent her time as a volunteer at the Christian Care Center in Vidor and also was a Baptist Hospital nursery care worker. Johnnie was a lady who had a passion about sharing her witness for the Lord not only vocally but setting the example by her daily living. Surviving Mrs. Wilson are her sons; Larry Wilson of Deer Park, Terry Wilson and wife Deany, John Wilson and wife Cathy all of Vidor, daughter Carolyn Finn of Vidor, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday December 8, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
