Joy Beth Mize, 92, of Galveston, died Saturday, September 20, 2025 at her residence. A native of Beaumont, Joy was a longtime resident of Colmesneil, before moving to Galveston 2 years ago. Joy was a retired business office manager with St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur. Joy played and taught piano, loved oil painting, traveling, flowers and birds. Joy was extremely talented and loved beautiful things in her life.
A Celebration Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 in the Garden of Gethsemane at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nola Cannon, her loving husband John Lester Mize, and by her son Johnnie Mize.
Joy is survived by her daughter Linda Wilson and her husband Ken of Montgomery, TX., sister, Joann Fuqua of Rosenburg, TX., grandchildren, Kimberly Wilson of Houston, Kris Wilson and his wife Jamie of Montgomery, and her great-grandson Preston Wilson also of Montgomery.
Joy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
