Judith Elizabeth Sherman

Judith Elizabeth Sherman, 81, longtime resident of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. She was born on October 5, 1944 in Beaumont, Texas, to the late William Edward Peeples and Ruby Ella (Geldard) Peeples.

Judith enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including crochet, fishing, cooking, and playing games such as cards and dominos. She especially loved spending time with her family and cherished every moment with her grandchildren. Judith was a devoted woman of faith who loved attending church, reading her Bible, and serving God. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 59 years, Jimmy Lee Sherman Sr.; sons, Jimmy Lee Sherman Jr. and Lutellis A. “Buzz” Sherman III; sister, Joan Williams; and granddaughter, Casing Sherman.

Judith is survived by her children, Ellen Behn and husband, Kelly, William “Bill” Sherman and wife, Lisa, Timothy “Tim” Sherman and wife, Missy, and James “Matt” Sherman and wife, Jill; grandchildren, Natasha, Kelly, Bridget, Briana, Maison, Ahli, Marcia, Caelan, Athiea, Rowan, Halea, Ashleigh, and Rylee; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A Memorial Service will be held at 9:00 am on June 6, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703.
