Lloyd Anthony Broussard Jr., Age 73, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on April 16th, 2019. Lloyd was born on May 27th, 1945 in Lafayette, Louisiana to his parents Lena Trosclair Broussard and father Lloyd Anthony Broussard Sr. Lloyd attended Beaumont High School and was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church. Lloyd was formerly employed as a Pressman by the Beaumont Enterprise And Journal and the Houston Post. He was also a lifetime member of the Graphic Communications International Union (GCIU) pressman's union and retired from local 71M.
Lloyd honorably served in the United States Army as a combat veteran during the Vietnam War. He served thirteen months in country during 1966 through 1967. His military service awards include the National Defense Service medal, the Vietnam Service medal, the Vietnam Campaign medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross medal. In Lloyd’s own words regarding his military service in Vietnam, he states, “We were winning when I left.” Lloyd enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling throughout the United States and abroad, and attending NASCAR racing events. Lloyd especially enjoyed collecting NASCAR memorabilia.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Emily Broussard and Linda Joyce Rossi, brother Wilbert “Bubba” Broussard, and former wife Phyllis Hampton.
Lloyd is survived by his brother Richard Broussard (Loretta), sister Hilda Broussard Arisco (Joe), and long-time companion Marilyn Moulds. He also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews, Robbie(Godchild), Tammie, Hayley, Jarrod, Ric, Tracie, Heather, Ronnie, and Samboy and his numerous great nieces and nephews, Alicia, Lindsey, Jacey, Little Robbie, Krystal, Macey, Ethan, Isla, Kaiden, Radley, Gabrielle, Mariah, Madison, Lacey, Rocky, Kaleigh, Zachary, and Hallee. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Red.
Pallbearers include Robbie Rossi, Chad Hughes, Jarrod Rossi, Sam Arisco, Frank Aguilar, Douglas Jones, Lynn Bouillon and Joe Arisco. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Thibodeaux and Ric Brousssard.
