Lola Belle Simmons, age 91, died July 3, 2020 of natural causes at the Vidor Health & Rehab Center. She was born December 30, 1928, in Yellville, Arkansas, to George and Martha Smith. Her family moved to San Diego, California at an early age where she lived until she married Robert Simmons and moved to Texas.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a longtime faithful member of Northwest Baptist Church in Vidor where she devoted many years of her life teaching Sunday School, coordinating and leading Vacation Bible School and home Bible studies with her dear friends.
She is survived by children Mark Simmons, Brent (Bonnie) Simmons, Karen (Michael) Horn, Scott (Tracie) Simmons, Martha Gooch and Myra Simmons; five grandchildren, Alex Simmons, Cullen (Brandi) Simmons, Shay Simmons, Lane Simmons and Ian Holcomb; one great-grandson Wyatt Simmons and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Norman Smith, sister Olsie Shaddox, and twin sister Grace Smith, son Robert Eric Simmons, son-in-law Ercel Gooch, daughter-in-law Renee Simmons and grandson Spencer Simmons.
Visitation will be at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont on July 10, 2020 at 10 a.m. with the funeral service starting at 11 a.m.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at the health center for the care they gave her throughout her stay.
