After her health declined, she worked in the church library. She loved “her library ladies”. Martha and Fulton loved to travel and it became a big part of their life after they became empty nesters. They visited all fifty states, Canada, Mexico, The British Isles and six European Countries. They camped with their grandchildren and some of their great grandchildren. They enjoyed cruises, among them a cruise to Alaska and through the Panama Canal and dipped their toes in the Arctic Ocean (NWT) in 1994. Their sixtieth wedding anniversary celebration included a trip to Hawaii.
