Mason Arvil Johnson, 69, of Fannett passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. He was born October 17, 1940, in Brady, Texas to Marie and Mason “Pete” Johnson. He retired from Mobil Oil Corp. in 1996, as an insulator and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Navy.
He is survived by his wife Sherry Johnson of Fannett; son, David Michael Johnson and wife Angie of Beaumont; step-son, Richard Cowan and wife Tammy of Tyler; step-daughter, Shelly Shelton and husband Michael of Mounds, Oklahoma; brother, Fred Johnson of Beaumont and one granddaughter, Jaedyn.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010, from 2 p.m., until 4 p.m., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
