

Maurice M. “Mac” Sticker, Sr. 91, of Port Acres passed away on Tuesday March 7, 2017 in Beaumont. Mac was born on February 14, 1926 in Nederland, Texas to Archie O’Neal Sticker and Abi Amanda Arnold Sticker who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Lynda Lea Sticker on Sunday February 12th of this year, his grandson Jay Reasons, niece LeNite Smith, and brother; Ronald Lee Sticker.
He is survived by three sons; Maury Sticker and wife Terri of Kingwood, David B. Sticker and wife Andrea of Meeker, Greg Sticker of Port Acres, two daughters; Sheila Frederick of Meeker, Olive Reasons and husband Jim of Townsend, Tennessee, brother; Milton D. Sticker of Silsbee, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Mac was a Baptist by faith and attended First Baptist Church of Hamshire where he served as a Deacon, Sabine Christian Fellowship, and Calvary Baptist Church of Port Acres. Mac served his country in the United States Navy in World War II, and the Korean Conflict where he had a rank of EM1 and E-6. During this time in the Navy he spent twenty-three years traveling the world and came back in 1967 and spent the next fifty years in the Golden Triangle area. He worked as an electrician for Dresser Ideco and did other electrical maintenance jobs and was a locksmith. He also in Nederland served as a Boy Scout Master.
Visitation will be held on Thursday March 9, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Friday March 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hamshire with burial services to follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont along with military rites.
