Molly graduated from Forest Park High School in 1972. She attended Lamar University and was a former bookkeeper and homemaker. She loved gardening, caring for her granddogs, and avidly taking up a new book. The beach was her happy place, where she'd merrily pass the time crabbing while the rest of the family cast lines for the big catch. When not by the shore, you could always find Molly keeping her pool pristine, or generally enjoying the sunny outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Charles "Rusty" Sewell and their son Kyle Sewell.
She is survived by her daughter Erin Sewell and son-in-law Christopher Cruz of Houston, Texas. Siblings, Beverly (Don) Sikes, Mark Gordey and Julie Wesseling.
A celebration of life for Molly will be held Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Spindletop Center, an organization helping the people of Southeast Texas endure their battles with mental illness, substance abuse, and other such crises.
