Nita Sue Soileau, 83, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at home, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Houston, she was a longtime resident of Lumberton, proud graduate of French High School Class of 1961, and went onto continue her studies at Baptist Hospital School of Radiology and graduated as a X-Ray Technician. Nita was a retired X-Ray Technician from Dr. Shorkeys office, and also worked with Physicians and Surgeons Center of Beaumont as a X-Ray Tech and Occupational Therapist.
Nita was also a certified X-Ray Tech in California, homemaker, mom, wife and caregiver. Nita was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church of Loeb, where she volunteered with VBS and Oasis, and was also a proud Lumberton Band Booster.
A Celebration of Nita's Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at her church First Baptist Church of Loeb, and with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026 also at First Baptist Church of Loeb.
Nita was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Noel Lee Soileau, Sr., parents Charlie Leon and Julia Rhea Guynes Dorsey, Sr., and by her siblings, Charlie Leon Dorsey, Jr., Evelyn Rhea Sheffield, Cecil Earl Dorsey, Kenneth Wayne Dorsey, and Julie Louise Reid.
Nita is survived by her daughter Lori Sell and her husband Stephen, son Noel Lee Soileau, Jr and his wife Kim all of Lumberton, and by her grandchildren which were her world, her grandson Trenton Sell and his wife Val all of Lumberton, granddaughters Breann Soileau of College Station, Haidyn Soileau of Lumberton and her fiancé Tatum Moore of Birmingham, AL., great grandson Alexander Noel, son of Trenton and Val Sell.
Active Pallbearers will be: Jacob Vogel, Adam Baylor, Chad Comer, Rodney Lawless, Cayden Bayless, and Tatum Moore.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Robert Doucet, and Trenton Sell.
Nita will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
