1927 - 2020
Patty was born on March 8, 1927, and left us on December 10, 2020, to be reunited with her twin sister, Peggy, after nearly eighty years apart. Patty was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and lived in various cities in Louisiana and Texas, settling in Beaumont, Texas. Patty completed nursing school and was a nurse for over twenty years. She then returned to school to complete her teaching degree. She became an elementary school teacher and taught for over twenty years. After retiring, Patty loved to travel and travelled all over the world.
Predeceased by her parents Maude and Jim McCarthy, brother Darrell McCarthy, and twin sister Peggy McCarthy. Survived by sons Patrick O'Dell and his wife Lucia, Glen O'Dell and his wife Anne, Chris O'Dell and his wife Melissa, grandchildren Shawn O'Dell, Jessica Hurley, Bryan O'Dell, Natalia Leon, Ethan O'Dell and his wife Marya, Danielle O'Dell, Dillon O'Dell, and great-grandchildren Delaney, Ryan, and Tatum, niece Darrolynn Ford and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers include Bryan O'Dell, Ethan O'Dell, Dillon O'Dell, Mark McCarthy, Charlie Cox, and Yoshi Rivera.
The family would like to express special gratitude to Darrolynn and Jerry Ford and to Lucy Bahena for all of the help they have given to Patty over the years.

Visitation and services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, December 14, 2020.
