After graduating, Rob joined the Air Force serving with the Air Force Security Police as a K9 handler. During his time in the service, he was stationed at Lackland AFB, Okinawa, Vietnam, and Barksdale AFB. Rob reaffirmed his faith in 1971. For many years he was involved with his church, serving in many roles. This eventually led him to New Horizons Church in Beaumont, where he served as Pastor until his death. He was a man that truly lived his faith, and this was evident to all. He was loved and admired by many in the community; often passing out cards with scripture or offering a prayer to those in need.
Rob had an infectious laugh and was known for his patience and loving nature. One of his favorite past times was entertaining people on the guitar and harmonica. He also enjoyed surprising people with his innate singing, joining street performers while out shopping. Whether it was with an instrument or his voice, he enjoyed uplifting people’s spirits with his talents.
