Bobby was born on June 28, 1943, in Warsaw, New York, to David and Helen Buchanan. A proud graduate of French High School in Beaumont (Class of 1961), Bobby spent over 40 years as the lead mechanic at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Beaumont. His dedication and work ethic earned him the respect of his peers and coworkers alike.
Above all, Bobby was devoted to his family. He was the rock, the steady voice of reason, and the glue that held everyone together. His ability to form individual, meaningful connections with each family member was one of his most cherished gifts. A lifelong car enthusiast, Bobby had a deep love for classic cars. Whether under the hood or at a car show, his passion was unmistakable.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Janice Buchanan of Manvel; his daughter, Lisa Smith and her husband Aaron of New Braunfels; his sons, Bruce Buchanan and his wife Tammy of China Springs, and Steven Buchanan and his wife Jennifer of Manvel. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brittany Coker, Megan Buchanan, Dillon Sappington, Andrew Buchanan, Cody Sawyer, Joshua Buchanan, Sarah Buchanan, Jessica Buchanan, Abigail Buchanan, and Luke Buchanan; and by his great-granddaughters, Baylee Coker and Kelcey Coker.
