Roberta Mary "Bobbie" Holst, 82, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away on September 12, 2023. A beacon of warmth and love, she was born on October 9, 1940, in Dennison, Texas, to the devoted Raymond Alton James and Mary Theresa Elle James.
Bobbie was a shining example of the power of a radiant smile and a heart of gold. To all who had the privilege of knowing her, she offered a comforting embrace with her presence. She lived a life that was a vivid testament to her enduring love for her family and an unwavering dedication to the values she cherished.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories with her devoted husband of 64 years, Giles Holst. Their bond is further immortalized through their children: son Giles Holst and his wife Lawanna of Port Neches, Texas, and daughter Twyla Wilson and her husband James of The Woodlands. Bobbie's pride and joy extended to her grandsons Easton Holst of Port Neches and James Wilson of The Woodlands, as well as her granddaughters Randi Holst Wooding and her husband Jonathan of Baltimore, MD, and Shelby Wilson of The Woodlands. Her love and wisdom also remain with her sister, Georgia Reynolds of Sealy, Texas. Bobbie was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Horton and brother Raymond Charles James.
Beyond her family, Bobbie touched countless young lives as a retired schoolteacher for the Beaumont Independent School District.
Bobbie had a wonderful talent for playing the piano by ear, a skill she often showcased during family gatherings and special occasions. She found peace and contentment working in her yard, nurturing every plant with the same care she offered to those around her. One of her simple pleasures was to get in the car and just ride around, taking in the beauty of the world around her.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 17th, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 4955 Pine St. Beaumont, Texas 77703 with a celebration of Bobbie’s life at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
