A devout Christian, Ruth Anne held her faith close to her heart throughout her life. She also dedicated many years of service to Jefferson County as a sheriff’s deputy before retiring, a career that reflected her commitment to serving her community.
Outside of her career, Ruth Anne found joy in cooking, although the phrase “small meal” was simply not in her vocabulary. Whether she was preparing a family dinner or gathering everyone around the table, there was always more than enough to go around. Her kitchen, like her heart, had room for everyone.
Ruth Anne was known for her sharp wit, playful sense of humor, and mischievous spirit. She loved a good joke, never shied away from a little colorful conversation, and had a special talent for stirring up a little harmless trouble just to keep things interesting. Her quick comebacks, candid personality, and ability to make people laugh were a big part of what made her so unforgettable. She had a way of keeping those around her entertained, and those who knew her best will undoubtedly remember her laughter, her humor, and the spark she brought into every room.
Above all, Ruth Anne was deeply loved by her family and friends. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories she created, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Ruth Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Shaw and Anne Elizabeth (Remsen) Shaw; and her beloved husband, John Rogers Boles.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, GW Boles, Jarred Remsen Boles, William Scott Boles and his wife, Wendy, and Alissa Warrington and her husband, Bill; grandchildren, Alexander and Jaycie Boles, and Billy and Ashton Warrington; brothers, Mark Shaw and his wife, Margaret, Scott Shaw and his wife, Dophill, and Dean Shaw; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
Ruth Anne will be remembered for her faith, her years of service, her generous cooking, her unforgettable sense of humor, and the love she shared with those around her. She was truly loved and will be deeply missed.
