Ruth Elizabeth Peleteire Hughes

She was born on May 22, 1924 to Charles and Elizabeth Peleteire in Beaumont. She married Sherman Ryan Hughes, Sr. in 1941 in Beaumont. She devoted her life to caring for and loving her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, 2 sisters and 2 children.

She is survived by 3 sons, Billy Hughes and wife Bobbie of McKinney, TX, Daniel Hughes of Lumberton, TX, Sherman Ryan Hughes, Jr. and wife Sandra of Zethyr, TX; a daughter, Carolyn Heien and husband Rick of College Station, TX; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a niece, Monty Picard and husband Sid of Sour Lake, TX and a nephew Bubba Hughes and wife Birdie of Beaumont, TX.

A gathering of family and friends was held Friday evening at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
