I can't believe that Aunt Sarah is gone. Martha and I were trying to schedule another trip to go see her because we had had such a good time on our last visit. We stayed up all night laughing and talking, but mostly laughing. Aunt Sarah was the last person that I could call and talk to about my mom and dad when they were young. I was always captivated by the stories that she shared with me. My Momma and Aunt Sarah had a close relationship; they were sister-in-laws, yes, but they were also great friends. I have loved reaping the benefits of their closeness, as it became an extension to my relationship with Aunt Sarah.

Aunt Sarah was an inspiration to me as I watched her live her life for Christ as His word commands us to do. She had a daily walk with God, and He was her priority. If she couldn't make it to church, she watched it all day on television. She was thoughtful and kind and generous with her time and love.
Almost all of our talks included a prayer request, not for herself, but for a friend or loved one.

We talked on the phone for hours and listened to each other gush about our children and grandchildren. She spoke of her great love of Sarah Ellen and Bubba and don't even get me started about how much she loved her grandchildren. They were the smartest, funniest, and best-looking individuals EVER!!!! She would listen to me go on and on about my loves too, and we came to the conclusion that her grandchildren and my grandchildren were all extraordinary, very special human beings. After all, they were Erwins', and it was all in the genes.

I will cherish my memories of her and forever hold who she was very close to my heart. She was a very special lady.

I miss her already… Praise God that I'll get to see her again!

What a grand lady! Sarah was a big part of my life for almost sixty years. It was an honor to know her and to love her and to be loved by her. We grieve our loss but rejoice in knowing Sarah is with her precious Lord Jesus Christ. "Love God and love one another" perfectly sum up how Sarah lived her life. She was especially devoted to Bob and Sarah Ellen and leaves an incredible legacy to their families. We miss you like crazy, Sarah, and we will see you in Paradise.

Ms. Sarah will truly be missed. She was such a blessing to everyone she knew. I have such wonderful memories of our conversations, her smile and her laughter. She loved her husband so very much and I know that her smile is so much greater now that she is with him. Her family and freinds will truly miss her - and my memories of her with always be able to brighten my days.

It is hard to say goodbye to such a special aunt. She had a gentle and sweet spirit that will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Aunt Sarah ran a good race and she finished well, with grace and dignity. She loved her daughter and son with all her heart, and I know that they will miss her greatly. Love to all of you.
