Sidney A. King, 84, passed away on April 20, 2011, at Christus St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont, Texas. He is survived by Ann Hamby King, his wife of fifty-eight years, daughter Karen King of Grand Rapids, Michigan, son Sidney A. King, Jr., of New Albany, Indiana, and sister Mary Halloran of San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. L. "Laurie" and Ima Mittie King, and brother Hubert L. King. Ann, Karen, and "little" Sid -
I remember your husband / father with very fond memories...of hanging out at your home after church Sunday nights, and of him guiding us in both spiritual and legal matters. He was indeed a good man who served his Lord, and whom you can be proud of. May his memory be a sweet one for you.
Miss you all!

Dear Sid King's family, Norma and I express our sincere sympathy to you. Sid was a dear friend and encouragement to us while we were in Beaumont and preaching at South Park Church of Christ. Sid helped us in many ways with spiritual and legal matters. When Georgia Moore died he helped me in taking care of her personal business. He was always available for consulting on business with the Bible Chair at Lamar Univ. I especially remember when he introduced me to one of his friends as a "heart" doctor. He was always encouraging my work in the ministry, God Bless him and his memory. Our prayers are for all of his family.
