Gloria moved to Lumberton in 1966. She was active in Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls, Girl Scouts, and her local community. Gloria was one of the originators of the Cone & Tassel Garden Club in Lumberton. She retired from the Texas Department of Human Services.
Survivors include three children, Stephen Challie, Andrew Challie and Diana Mann and granddaughter Lauren Challie.
