Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done for us through his servant Torrence Travis Drake.
Travis was born on the 16th of December, 1925, to William Edward and Della Myrle Drake. He was born again as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism. He was catechized in the Christian faith and confirmed on the 21st of September, 2003, at Faith Lutheran Church. His confirmation verse was Philippians 4:19, “My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Jean Drake; son Edward Drake; two sisters: Willa Myrle Brasfield and Sarah Louise Crabb; one brother, William (Bill) A. Drake. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
On the 19th of September, 2018, Travis fell asleep in Jesus, with whom he waits for the resurrection of all flesh. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” (Psalm 116:15)
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our brother Torrence Travis Drake.
