Wanda grew up in Beaumont, Texas and graduated from South Park High School in 1955. After graduation she married Charles Fletcher of Nederland, TX. Together they raised a son Steve and a daughter Vickie. Wanda loved collecting seashells, and ceramic light houses. She had a close relationship with God and loved reading devotionals. She was a great practical joker and always looked for a way to make those around her laugh.
Wanda worked for most of her life in the banking industry. In the early 60s she rose to become the head book keeper at Beaumont State Bank, a position that was almost never given to a woman in that era. She was simply too good at her job to be denied.
Wanda is preceded in death by her daughter Vickie and brothers James Clarence (JC) and Charles (Buddy) Hughes.
Wanda will be greatly missed by her husband of 65 years, Charles Fletcher, son Steve, sister Frances Sheffield, grandsons Jason, Drew, Ronald, Vincent, and Conner, granddaughters Marcy, Rachel, Hannah, and Molly, along with twelve great grandchildren.
