Zella Mae Parsley

Zella M. Parsley, age 91 of Kountze, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in Beaumont, Texas. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Rotramel officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Zella was born in Montgomery, Texas on March 28, 1924 to the late John Thomas & Minnie Snow. She married her husband in 1942. She was a longtime member of Crestwood Baptist Church. While at Crestwood she enjoyed her Sunday School Class and was a member of the “Fun Bunch”. Zella was also member of SCAT. She enjoyed gardening and and reading.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Edwin Parsley. Her parents, John Thomas and Minnie Snow, two brothers; John Robert Snow and Gilbert Snow and one sister, Marie Rumfield.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Gooch and her husband Frank of Kountze, Texas and a son, Douglas Parsley and his wife Sandra of Kountze, Texas. Brother, Ben Snow and his wife Betty of Clarksville, Tennessee. Sister Ruby Paul of Conroe, Texas. Two grandchildren, Michael Gooch and his wife Robin of Bridge City, Texas and Carolyn Boyd and her husband Scott of Beaumont, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Parsley, Ernie Williford, Phil Hatton, Butch Clark, Shane Smith, Jack Price, and Luke Latino.
