

Amanda Christine Szekely, age 30, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Born in Lansing, Michigan, Amanda was the beloved daughter of Jeffrey and Heidi Szekely, and a light in the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving parents, Jeffrey and Heidi; her sister Emily (Ryan Barr); her brother Sam; her grandparents Dan and Pat Szekely, Kathleen Kovarik, and Dan Lund (Beverly); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
After her graduation from St. Mary’s Academy in Portland in 2013, Amanda received her BS degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2016. She dedicated her career to caring for medically fragile children, showing extraordinary compassion and patience in everything she did. Her kindness extended far beyond her work—she was always ready to lend a hand, offer comfort, or give her time to help someone in need.
Even while managing her own long-term health challenges, Amanda remained devoted to serving and caring for others. She found joy in creative projects, caring for her friends and loved ones, and giving back to her community in meaningful ways. Her strength, warmth, bright smile, and generosity touched countless lives.
Amanda's presence was a gift, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Amanda’s life is being planned and will be announced on this page, once scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, Amanda’s family has requested that a donation of kindness be made to someone in her memory.
