Beth Elaine Sypher Palmer was born in Milton, Oregon to Fred and Avis Sypher on December 16, 1916. She was the third of four children. Her brothers Merlyn and Brad (both of Portland) preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Cheryl Arbuckle of Silverton, Oregon.
Beth moved to Silverton as a child. It was there that she met her husband Marion. They were married for sixty-seven years. The couple made their first home at a logging camp near Santiam Pass. Future homes were in Portland, Pendleton, Boise, Tacoma, and Salem.
In Salem she worked for Leeper’s Office Supply. Upon retiring, Beth enjoyed traveling with Marion. She stayed active until her passing by living independently, gardening, and bird watching.
Beth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Vicky and Chuck Barrows of Portland; two grandchildren, Richard Barrows of Battleground, and Brenda Barrows Fox of Portland; and four great-grandchildren: Katie Barrows of Seattle; Charlie Barrows of Battleground; and Corbett and Allie Fox of Portland.
