Carol Ann Mendez, 80 of Beaverton OR, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York to Ernest and Catherine Perkins. Carol married Joe Mendez on April 30, 1993 in Jackson Heights NY. She worked as a Cantor for 30 years at St. Patrick’s Church in Manhatten before relocating to Oregon. She was a member of Cedar Mill Bible Church. Carol was an avid chef and artist, loved singing and had a heart for people in need.
Carol is survived by her husband Joe Mendez of Beaverton OR; sister Lynne Perkins in upstate New York and several cousins.
Services include inurnment at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon and a Celebration of Carol Ann’s Life at 2:00pm on December 18, 2024 at Cedar Mill Bible Church, 12208 NW Cornell Road in Portland OR. Contributions may be made as donations to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital at give.ohsufoundation.org in Carol’s name.
