He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Frances Miriam Maser on January 16, 2016 and he has missed her every single day since. All who knew him can imagine he is holding her hand now and both have giant grins on their faces with both cats by their side.
Dale entered the Army in August 1953 serving his country with pride. He received the UN Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal before his Honorable discharge in June 1955 when he transferred to the Army Reserve Oregon Military District and served another eight years. He had many stories about his travels and adventures and loved to tell anyone who would listen.
Dale cared very deeply about taking care of other people and always tried to live up to the standards instilled in him by Frances; giving of himself freely when he could and making sure to share his wealth of information and know-how. After Frances passed away, Dale became very good friends with Dave Brockl and asked for help in distributing his and Frances’ collections to various clubs and colleagues. He was very keen on making sure that nothing got left behind that couldn’t go to a charitable organization or friend in need.
Dale will be missed by many people in many ways. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to one of his favorite charities: Cat Adoption Team, Sherwood – 14175 SW Galbreath Dr. Sherwood, OR 97140 (503)925-8903
He will be buried next to Frances at: Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Happy Valley, OR 97086
