Don was born on May 13, 1929 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Jake and Molly (Schiediman) Linker. Growing up on the family farm he learned hard work from an early age and after high school joined the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. Once he was honorably discharged, Don began working in the metal polish industry later on co-owning Sellwood Metal Finishers until his retirement.
Don came to Oregon to visit his brother. During that visit his brother introduced Don to Dorothy Mae Larson who would later become his wife. Together, with their children, they enjoyed time at the Oregon Coast camping, crabbing, fishing, and clam digging.
Once retired, Don enjoyed wood working, stained glass, reading and watching his favorite television programs. In 2005 his beloved Dorothy passed away and in 2012 Don moved closer to Beaverton from the coast to be closer to his family.
Don will be remembered as a quiet, hard working man. He is survived by his children Greg Linker, Mark Linker, Susan Franklin; his siblings in addition to many nieces and nephews. Please visit peggpaxsonspringer.com to read the full obituary and sign the electronic guest book.
