On August 1, 1969, Gail was born in La Union, Phillipines. At the age of 2, Gail arrived as the only child. That family soon welcomed 2 other daughters, Ginah and Gemma and built their lives around the Filipino community they created and nurtured here. Naturally, their lives also revolved around the local Catholic Church: St Pius. It began at the original small church where she received 1 st communion. Then Gail had Confirmation, and planned both her sisters weddings here at this church.

Gail was proud to be the Godmother of many children-some of which were also baptized here at St. Pius. She made it a point to make them all rosaries when they had their first communion.

Ultimately, she wanted to spread her wings, soon finding work and a forming a new life that was entirely her own in southern California. Inspired by her childhood surrounded by friends and family, she built that support system for herself. Friends and family quickly discovered what we in the NW already knew: that she is someone they never knew they had to have in their lives.

Although living now in California, she retained the same close relationship with her family and friends, now stretching from Seattle to Southern California. Through many flights, hours a week on the phone with whoever needed a friendly ear, a shoulder to cry on or some gentle, well-timed advice, she grew her sphere of influence one conversation at a time. Through it all, she maintained a connection to a spiritual life that was paced by Church service on Sundays, and Christmas and Thanksgiving back at St Pius. Frequent trips to bear witness to her many nieces and nephews get baptized, communion, confirmation brought her back often to this Parish.

After being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in April 2018, she never lost faith. She maintained a connection with her local pastor, since she could not attend church. She fought bravely through treatment, but the cancer was too aggressive.

She was loved by many. She leaves many friends who will miss her dearly. She was happiest with Marco, her soul mate, traveling with him to meet her family at a new location to explore new culture and experiences.

People from every phase of her life -- from elementary school all the way to her current professional life -- feel compelled to come and say their good byes. Although she is gone from this earthly life, her legacy will live on with each of you.
