Gregory Joseph Slezinger

Gregory Joseph Slezinger, born on November 6, 1973, in Sun Valley, California, passed away at home, surrounded by his family on May 29, 2025 in Beaverton, Oregon after a 2 year battle with AML Leukemia. He was 51 years old.

Greg grew up in Reseda, California before moving to Palmdale, California during his teen years. He graduated from Quartz Hill High School in 1991. From there he attended CSUN and graduated in 1995 with a BA degree in Computer Science. He went on to work at Fan Fare/Market Tech Media as a graphic designer. Greg also spent a short time working the concession stand at the local JetHawks Stadium in Lancaster, California and really enjoyed it.

In 2001, Greg met his future wife online and they got married in 2005. They welcomed their first child in 2010 and their second child in 2013. He and his family moved to Beaverton, Oregon in 2016 where he started working for Columbia Sportswear.

He was known for being a very quiet and patient man who always worked hard to support his family. He was a man of very few words and kept to himself. He was extremely intelligent and constantly amazed his family by his limitless knowledge of almost everything. His family repeatedly joked about how stubborn he was about all the information he acquired and never liked sharing what was in his head or on his mind.

His kind and gentle spirit is adorned by many and will always be remembered, along with his passion for his Lego’s, specifically his extensive Batman Lego collection. Greg also had a love for Dodgers baseball, watching game shows and old TV shows from the 70’s and 80’s. He also enjoyed baking, cooking and had a dream of opening a food truck.

He was happiest at home with his family playing Uno together and playing games on his phone.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cindy, two children, Ella and Logan, his mother Jackie, two brothers, Ed and Ryan (Suzi), several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Greg on August 2, 2025 in Beaverton, Oregon. Time and location still to be determined.
