Harriet Louise (Spears) Freeman was born in Lawrence, KS on February 27, 1932 to Louis Bowerman Spears and Helen Smith. She graduated high school in Lawrence and then worked for Bell Telephone. Harriet was married to Lyle Freeman for 26 years.
In 1964 she moved to Beaverton and worked in the medical field in Central Supply at St. Vincent Medical Center. Harriet enjoyed watching movies, gardening, spending time with her family, and water aerobics.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Spears, and a brother, James Spears, and by her niece Bobbie Jean Spears, and is survived by her children, Gregory Freeman and wife Veronica of Seattle and Marcie Freeman of Portland; and by nephews Rob Spears and David Lee Spears, and sister-in-law Jean Spears.
A memorial service will take place on Sunday, November 9 at 3 PM at Pegg, Paxson and Springer Funeral Chapel, 4675 SW Watson Avenue in Beaverton. Harriet’s ashes will be scattered privately on a special beach at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
