Irene M. Kushmuk

Irene married Walter in October 1946 and they raised four children and welcomed six grandchildren. Irene loved to cook and bake and did so until her last days.

Irene and Walter retired to Oregon in 1990. They were married for 58 years until Walter's death in 2004.

Irene was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Beaverton and served on the St. Gerard's Guild. She regularly attended aerobic classes at the Elsie Stuhr Center in Beaverton.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeannette (Paul) Steffen of Thousand Oaks, California; son, Jim (Kathy) Kushman of Beaverton, OR; daughter, Cathy (Al) Olson of Portland; daughter, Nancy (John) Pappas of LaGrange, Illinois; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Steffen, David Steffen, Sarah Steffen, Mark Kushman, Alex Pappas and Alaina Pappas.

Visitation will be Monday December 20, 2010, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Pegg, Paxson, & Springer Chapel. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Tuesday December 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 5105 SW Franklin Ave., Beaverton. Private family burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances to St. Gerard's Guild at St. Cecilia Catholic Church or the Elsie Stuhr Center in Beaverton.
